Contents
Desloratadine 2.5 mg, pseudoephedrine sulphate 120 mg
Indications/Uses
Relief of nasal & non-nasal symptoms of allergic rhinitis including nasal congestion.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & adolescent ≥12 yr 1 tab twice daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Swallow whole, do not chew/break/crush.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to adrenergic agents or loratadine. Concomitant therapy w/ MAOI or w/in 14 days of discontinuing treatment. Narrow-angle glaucoma, urinary retention, severe HTN, severe CAD, history or increased risk of hemorrhagic stroke.
Special Precautions
Discontinue treatment in cases of HTN, tachycardia, palpitations or cardiac arrhythmias, nausea, headache. History of MI, DM, bladder neck obstruction or +ve anamnesis of bronchospasm. Stenosing peptic ulcer, pyloroduodenal & vesical cervix obstruction. Treatment w/ digitalis, sympathomimetics including decongestants, anorexogenics or amphetamine-type psychostimulants, antihypersensitive agents, TCAs & other antihistamines. Patients w/ migraine under ergot alkaloid vasoconstrictor treatment; peri-op acute HTN. Discontinue 24 hr before anesth. Discontinue use 48 hr before skin tests. May be +ve in doping test. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Tachycardia, dry mouth, dizziness, psychomotor hyperactivity, pharyngitis, anorexia, constipation, headache, fatigue, insomnia, somnolence, sleep disorder, nervousness.
Drug Interactions
Critical HTN reactions w/ sympathomometic agents. Risk of vasoconstriction & increase in BP w/ dihydroergotamine, ergotamine & methylergotamine.
