Cetirizine HCl
Indications/Uses
Perennial rhinitis, allergic rhinitis & chronic idiopathic urticaria.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >12 yr 2 measuring spoon once daily. Childn 6-12 yr 2 measuring spoon once daily; 2-6 yr 1 measuring spoon once daily; 1-2 yr ½ measuring spoon once daily; 6 mth-1 yr ½ measuring spoon once daily, max duration: 1 wk. Patient w/ impaired kidney function Reduce to ½ of the usual recommended dose.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Severe kidney disease. 1st trimester of pregnancy. Lactation.
Special Precautions
Not recommended for patients who are driving the vehicle & operate the machinery. Avoid use during pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, dizziness, drowsiness, agitation, dry mouth & gastric discomfort. Hypersensitivity reaction including skin reaction & angioedema may occur in some patients.
Drug Interactions
Avoid concomitant use w/ alcohol.
