Micronized purified flavonoid fraction (MPFF)
Indications/Uses
Helps to treat functional symptoms related to acute & chronic haemorrhoidal attack; venous insufficiency syndrome on feet eg, varicose veins.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Acute hemorrhoid 3 tab daily for the first 4 days, then 2 tab daily for the next 3 days. Chronic hemorrhoid & venous insufficiency syndrome 1 tab daily.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Special Precautions
May cause allergic reaction eg, dermatitis, lip swelling in patients w/ hypersensitivity or allergy to MPFF. Can cause constipation, dyspepsia & nausea. Does not preclude specific treatment for other anal conditions. Treatment must be short-term. Perform proctological exam if symptoms do not subside promptly & the treatment should be reviewed.
Adverse Reactions
Diarrhoea, dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting. Colitis. Dizziness, headache, malaise, rash, pruritus, urticaria. Abdominal pain, isolated face, eyelid & lip oedema. Exceptionally, Quincke’s oedema.
