Micronized purified flavonoid fraction (MPFF)
Indications/Uses
Functional symptomatic treatment related to acute & chronic haemorrhoidal attack; symptoms related to venolymphatic insufficiency (heavy legs, pain, restless legs syndrome at bed time).
Dosage/Direction for Use
Acute haemorrhoidal attack 6 tab daily for the first 4 days, then 4 tab daily for 3 days. Chronic haemorrhoidal attack & venolymphatic insufficiency 2 tab daily.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Could cause allergic reaction eg, dermatitis, lip swelling in patient w/ hypersensitivity or allergy to MPFF. Can cause constipation, dyspepsia, nausea. Does not preclude specific treatment for other anal conditions. Treatment must be short-term. Perform proctological exam if symptoms do not subside promptly & the treatment must be reviewed.
Adverse Reactions
Diarrhoea, dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting. Colitis. Dizziness, headache, malaise, rash, pruritus, urticaria. Abdominal pain, isolated face, eyelid & lip oedema. Exceptionally, Quincke’s oedema.
