Indications and Dosage
Oral
Adjunct to type 2 diabetes mellitus, Hyperlipidaemias
Adult: 150 mg tid.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Chronic pancreatitis.
Special Precautions
Pregnancy, lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Loose stools; nausea; epigastric discomfort; asthenia; drowsiness; dizziness.
Drug Interactions
Increased glucose-lowering effect when used with other antidiabetic agents.
Action
Description:
Mechanism of Action: Benfluorex, a lipid-regulating drug, decreases the intestinal absorption of triglycerides, the lipid synthesis and facilitates cellular penetration and utilisation of glucose.
