Diacerein
Indications/Uses
Long term treatment for OA.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 cap twice daily for at least 6 mth.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take w/ or immediately after meals.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Patients under therapy w/ antibiotics. Patients w/ history of entero-colic disorder & irritable bowel syndrome. Intestinal & pseudo-obstruction; inflammation eg, Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. Severe liver & renal disorder. Pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
Concomitant use w/ laxatives. Renal function disorder. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn >15 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Diarrhea & epigastric pain; nausea & vomiting; pigmentation in recto-colic mucous; pruritus, eczema, cutaneous eruption.
Drug Interactions
High fiber or phytates. Antacid which contains Al & Mg hydroxide. Antibiotic or chemotherapy.
