Lansoprazole
Indications/Uses
Duodenal ulcer & reflux esophagitis; benign gastric ulcer.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & elderly Recommended dose: 30 mg once daily. Duration of therapy: Duodenal ulcer & reflux esophagitis 4 wk; benign gastric ulcer 8 wk. Hepatic & renal impairment Max dose: 30 mg daily.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take before or 1 hr after meals.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Hepatic disorders, exclude possibility of malignancy in suspected gastric ulcer. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Diarrhea, headache, nausea, skin allergy, abdominal pain, constipation, flatulence & vomiting.
Drug Interactions
Concomitant use w/ weak CYP450 inducers, OCs, phenytoin, theophylline, antacids & sucralfate.
