Known hypersensitivity to cephalosporins, concomitant administration of other nephrotoxic agents.

Special Precautions
Hypersensitivity to penicillins, pseudomembranous colitis, early pregnancy, lactation, renal failure.

Adverse Reactions
Pain at inj site, hypersensitivity, GI disturbances, candidiasis, eosinophilia, neutropenia, leucopenia, thrombocytopenia.
Potentially Fatal: Anaphylactic reaction. |
Drug Interactions
Probenecid prolongs activity by slowing renal tubular excretion.
Potentially Fatal: Furosemide and aminoglycosides prolong T1/2 of cefaloridine and potentiate nephrotoxicity. |
Lab Interference
False-positive for Coomb's test and urine sugar.

Description:
Mechanism of Action: Cefaloridine is one of the oldest cephalosporin antibacterials. It has properties similar to those of cefalotin, but is more nephrotoxic. |
