Contents
Per 5 mL Betamethasone 0.25 mg, dexchlorpheniramine maleate 2 mg
Indications/Uses
Relieve resp, ocular & dermatologic allergies & inflammation.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >12 yr 5-10 mL 4 times daily. Max: 40 mL/day. Childn 6-12 yr 2.5 mL 3 times daily. Max: 20 mL/day, 2-6 yr 2.5 mL 3 times daily. Max: 10 mL/day.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Peptic ulcer. Systemic fungal infection. Patients treated w/ MAOI agent. Newborn & premature infant.
Special Precautions
Ocular herpes simplex. Emotional instability or psychotic tendencies. Non-specific ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, fresh intestinal anastomoses, pyloroduodenal obstruction. HTN; osteoporosis. Myasthenia gravis; TB; prostatic hypertrophy. May affect ability to drive or operate machinery. Cirrhosis. Renal insufficiency. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Hypersensitivity. Musculoskeletal, GI, dermatologic, neurologic, endocrine, ophth, metabolic, psychiatric, CV, hematologic, genitourinary & resp disturbances.
Drug Interactions
Enhanced corticosteroid metabolism by phenobarb, phenytoin, rifampicin, ephedrine. Enhanced hypokalemia by K-depleting diuretic; amphotericin B. Cardiac glycosides, coumarins, aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs; alcohol, CNS depressants, MAOI.
