Tab/oral soln/oral dropsAdult 1 tab 3 times daily. Oral soln 2 tsp 3 times daily. Childn 1-6 yr 0.1 mg/kg 2-3 times daily, <1 yr 0.1 mg/kg twice daily. InjTreatment of delayed gastric emptying timeAdult 10 mg IV over 1-2 min period. Childn 6-14 yr 2.5-5 mg IV, <6 yr 0.1 mg/kg IV. Prevention of nausea & vomiting associated w/ chemotherapy 1-2 mg/kg over a period not ≤15 min, given 30 min prior to chemotherapy, repeat 2 hrly for 2 doses, then 3 hrly for 3 doses & not >10 mg/kg/hr. Prevention of post-op nausea & vomiting 10-20 mg IM over 1-2 min administered near the post-op.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 30 min before meals.
Contraindications
Epileptics & patients on drugs which cause extrapyramidal reactions. GI hemorrhage, obstruction or perforation. Pheochromocytoma.
Special Precautions
Renal failure. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. 1st trimester of pregnancy. Lactation.
