Loperamide HCl
Indications/Uses
Acute & chronic diarrhoea.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Acute diarrhoea Initial dose: 2 tab. Followed by 1 tab at any subsequent loose stool. Chronic diarrhoea Initial dose: As for acute diarrhoea. Adjust until 1-2 solid stools/day are obtained. Max dose: 8 tab daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
When inhibition of peristalsis is to be avoided.
Special Precautions
Hepatic impairment. Infant <24 mth.
Adverse Reactions
Dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, constipation.
