Short-term treatment of resistant dermatoses eg, psoriasis (not including widespread psoriasis), recalcitrant dermatitis, lichen planus, discoid lupus erythematosus & other dermatoses which do not respond satisfactorily to less potent corticosteroid prep.
Treatment course should be limited to 5 days & wkly evaluation should be done if required for use in childn. The face or other areas of the body may exhibit atrophic changes after prolonged treatment. May result to glaucoma if applied to the eyelids. Topical antibiotics should be given whenever treating inflammatory lesions which are prone to infection. Pregnant & nursing women. Avoid long-term continuous therapy in childn.
Burning & stinging sensation. Adrenal suppression, Cushing's syndrome, hyperglycemia & HTN w/ prolonged & excessive use over large surface area. Long-term & intensive treatment may cause local atrophic changes eg, thinning of the skin, striae, & dilatation of superficial blood vessels when occlusive dressings are used or skin folds are involved.
