Ceftriaxone disodium
Indications/Uses
Resp tract, renal, bone & soft tissue, abdominal & genital infections. UTI, sepsis, meningitis. Pre-op infection prophylaxis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >12 yr
1-2 g once daily.
Infant & young childn
20-80 mg/kg once daily.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins.
Special Precautions
Hypersensitivity to penicillins. Anaphylactic shock. Severe renal & hepatic failure. Pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
GI upsets, hematological changes, skin reactions, coagulation disorders, phlebitis.
