Ambroxol HCl

Indications/Uses

Acute & chronic resp tract diseases particularly in chronic bronchitis exacerbation & asthmatic bronchitis & bronchial asthma; pre- & post-op treatment & in intensive care to avoid pulmonary complications.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Tab Adult & childn >10 yr 1 tab, 5-10 yr ½ tab. To be taken 3 times daily. Syr Adult & childn >10 yr 2 tsp 3 times daily, 5-10 yr 1 tsp 2-3 times daily, 2-5 yr ½ tsp 3 times daily, <2 yr ½ tsp twice daily. Oral drops Childn up to 2 yr 0.5 mL (10 drops) 2 times daily. Forte syr Adult & childn >10 yr 5 mL 3 times daily, 5-10 yr 2.5 mL 2-3 times daily.

Administration

Should be taken with food.

Special Precautions

Prolonged use. Pregnancy & lactation.

Adverse Reactions

Mild GI side effects; intolerance reactions, skin rash, face oedema, dyspnoea, fever.
