Ketoconazole
Indications/Uses
Cream & lotion: Dermatophyte infections of the skin eg, tinea pedis, tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea manus caused by Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Microsporum canis & Epiderma floccosum; cutaneous candidiasis, tinea versicolor & seborrheic dermatitis caused by Pytirosporum ovale. Shampoo: Dermatophyte infections of the scalp eg, seborrhoeic dermatitis, dandruff, pityriasis versicolor.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Cream & lotion: Apply on the infected part & the surrounding area 1-2 times a day for 2-6 wk depending on the severity of the infection suffered. Shampoo: Wash hair & scalp, leave in place for 3-5 min then rinse off w/ water. Duration treatment: Seborrhoeic dermatitis & dandruff Twice wkly for 2-4 wk. Pityriasis versicolor Once daily for 5 days.

Special Precautions
Shampoo: Avoid contact w/ eyes. For external use only. Pregnancy, lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Shampoo: Irritation, burn sensation.
