Indications and Dosage
Intramuscular
Pain and inflammation
Adult: 1 g injected deeply in single doses.

Topical/Cutaneous
Pain and inflammation
Adult: Apply 5% or 10% conc topically on affected area.
Contraindications
Active peptic ulceration. Hypersensitivity. Pregnancy (3rd trimester).
Special Precautions
Use with caution in patients with infections, asthma, allergic disorders, haemorrhagic disorders, hypertension, and impaired renal, hepatic, cardiac function, history of peptic ulcer disease. Monitor for the development of blood, kidney, liver, or eye disorders. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances, such as GI discomfort, nausea and diarrhoea. Headache, vertigo, dizziness, nervousness, tinnitus, depression, drowsiness and insomnia. Hypersensitivity reactions such as fever, angioedema, bronchospasm, and rashes. Anaemias, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, eosinophilia and agranulocytosis.
Food Interaction
Take with food or milk to reduce risk of GI irritation.
Lab Interference
May interfere with thyroid function tests.

Description:
Mechanism of Action: Etofenamate is an NSAID applied topically for the relief of pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal, joint and soft tissue disorders.
