Administration
Should be taken with food. Best taken after the evening meal.

Contraindications
Liver diseases; gallbladder diseases; severe renal insufficiency; decompensated heart failure; acute cardiac infarct; acute bleedings; pregnancy; lactation.

Special Precautions
Perform regular liver function tests. May increase the risk of cholelithiasis. Regular monitoring of INR when used with coumarin-type anticoagulants.

Adverse Reactions
Flush syndrome and reactions to flush; GI disorders.

Drug Interactions
Anticoagulants; sulfonylureas; HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors; coronary vasodilating drugs. Increased risk of nephrotoxicity with cyclosporine.
