Short-term treatment of acute conditions ie, post-traumatic & post-op pain & inflammatory. As adjuvant in severe inflammatory pain of otitis & pharyngotonsillitis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Initially 100-150 mg/day in 2-3 divided doses. Moderate casesChildn >14 yr 75-100 mg/day.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take immediately after meals.
Contraindications
Gastric ulcer, patients in whom ASA or prostaglandin inhibitors precipitate symptoms of asthma, urticaria or acute rhinitis.
Special Precautions
Impaired cardiac & kidney function, patient receiving diuretic treatment, extracellular vol depletion eg peri- & post-major surgery. Gastric ulcer or bleeding. Liver & kidney function & blood count should be monitored in patients who are receiving long-term treatment of NSAIDs. History of gastric ulcer. May impair ability to drive or operate the machinery. Pregnancy & lactation. Elderly.
